iSoniTalk - Free Your iPhone From White Earbuds

No doubt Apple's decision to recess the iPhone's headphone jack is widely considered a conspiracy to force owners to buy accessories to use anything other than their own recognizable white earbuds. Would it be nice to simply plug your better phones into your iPhone without an adapter? Probably. But even though that recessed jack could be considered a crime, we may be less inclined to pick up killer accessories like Monster's iSoniTalk iPhone adapter without it, and that WOULD be a crime.

If you have an iPhone, unplug those white buds and toss them in the nearest wastebasket. Run (don't walk) to your nearest store, and pick up Monster's iSoniTalk. It's exactly what you've been dreaming of since you first fired up some tunes on your touch friendly phone.

The Monster iSoniTalk

No doubt simple headphone adapters are a dime-a-dozen these days, but Monster's iSoniTalk iPhone adapter solves two significant problems in one. Shy of picking up an expensive set of Bluetooth headphones with voice features, there's no great way to listen to music and make hands-free calls without switching devices. Meaning, taking out the white earbuds and putting on a bluetooth headset is about the only option you have.

The iSoniTalk adapter plugs in to the recessed headphone jack on the iPhone, and provides a standard 1/8" headphone plug that allows you to use any headphones you want. For the music lover, this is reason alone to be overjoyed, and of course Monster's quality gold-plated connections do a marvelous job of keeping your audio quality up to snuff.

Second, the iSoniTalk includes a small control box that you clip to your lapel sporting an answer/end switch and microphone for seamless hands-free calling. Audio from your calls will be routed to the headphones you're already wearing, while what you say is picked up by the mic on your lapel. When your call is over, the music you were listening to resumes without any interruption. The lapel switch also serves double duty as a convenient pause/play button when a call isn't coming in.

Bottom Line

For the iPhone owner not looking to go wireless, Monster's iSoniTalk adapter is an affordable, must have accessory. Not only will you breathe new life into your music since you can use better headphones, but the convenience of one headset to manage both music listening and hands-free calls is pretty darn cool.
