So... why not just sell your highest "speed" cable?
Bandwidth is not speed. Your cables don't allow electrons an easier path than anyone else's cable. I'm sorry, but you're just lying.
I've seen cables that have NOT passed HDMI ATC testing for 1.3a still pass 1080p over 75 feet. I've seen 1.1 cables pass 1080p beyond 30 feet. The construction hasn't changed... only the testing criteria.
The 1.3a is a "bare minimum" test. It BARELY has anything to do with cables, really.
Why do you guys insist on dumbing consumers down?

The idea of "speed" is that more Gigabits per second can pass through different cables that are specially engineered to do so. Yes, that's actually bandwidth.
Monster offers standard speed cables because components with 720p or 1080i have lower data transfer rate requirements. Why spend lots of money on a cable made for a Blu-ray disc player, when a standard speed cable will do? (Other than the Cable For Life offer that you'll never have to buy a new cable when technologies advance beyond what they are today).
It's Monster's way of offering quality cables at different price points that are appropriate to different applications.
