Would anyone know if it is possible (without causing damage to either unit) to plug a step down transformer into an UPS.  I am living overseas and have a European UPS (230 volts) but want to use it for North American electronics (110) by using a step down transformer.  The power goes off several times a day where I live (for less than a minute) and it can be very irritating.
