Hello! I recently experienced an interesting issue with my XBOX 360 and connecting it to my HDTV. I currently am running an HDMI cable to the TV from the 360 in 720P resolution. The picture looks absolutely fantastic.
However, using the component cable connection, at the same resolution - the picture looks horrible, and there's a lot of white bloom. Adjusting the picture settings including contrast and brightness did nothing to solve the issue.
Both cables are generic, no-name brands. I have a few questions:
1. Is it the component cable that is causing my issue, or the TV's component input, that makes the connection look horrible? (As background information, other game systems hooked up component, mainly the Wii, experience the same issues. The Wii cable is a name brand cable.)
2. Would buying a better HDMI cable further improve my picture?
