Using my fiber optic to my receiver I get a hissing sound. The coaxial one doesn't seem to do this. Is it because of interferenace from somethng else or maybe just a cheap cable?

They are both about 3 feet long.

Optical cables can't introduce a hiss and the only interference that can effect them is internal reflections (usually brought on by a too long cable... much more than 3') - I'd say you have an issue with the sending and/or receiving device.

Thanks, I didn't think you could get a hissing from optical. I'll try using some different ports and configs and see if that helps.
