How Monster is Fighting Fingerprints... and Germs, Too

[article image]

You see and hear about a lot of cool things at a show like the MASSIVE Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and as always, Monster was no disappointment. They introduced all kinds of cool things like the "beats" headphones, new cables, and power devices. However, one of the items that most impressed me wasn't even a gadget at all... it was a cleaner. I know, "a Monster cleaner?" you say. Hear me out.

It's a "dirty" little secret. Portable electronic devices like MP3 players, cell phones, and laptop keyboards are all germ-invested and littered with sickness causing bacteria. The constant touching, handling, and body heat creates playground for such nasties. You never know, it may not have been that sick guy at work that put you under the weather... it could have been your phone.

From birth we're almost trained to practice good hygiene before or after certain events like after using the washroom or before eating. We all know to wipe the counter down after handling raw meats, but wiping off your cell phone or headphones just isn't the first thing that springs to mind. In fact, I bet some of you reading this have never ONCE cleaned the gunk off your keyboard. It's not your fault... you probably didn't even know you should do so.

I've used Monster's ScreenClean products before, mostly for cleaning the dirt off my laptop screen. I think it's a good product, but nothing exciting enough to write about. Yet, ScreenClean just got more interesting thanks to a new formula announced at this year's CES. The change: add anti-microbial cleaning cloths enhanced with AEGIS Micro Shield Technology to polish screens and control potentially harmful bacteria and other micro-organisms at the same time. Notably, the powerful cleaning solution in the new products features a new streak-free formula that dissolves oils and is safe for delicate screen coatings.

You should see the new formula hit store shelves in late January in the following configurations: Monster ScreenClean for Cameras and Camcorders, Monster ScreenClean for Cell Phones, and Monster iClean for iPhone and iPod. All of these products will have a reasonable suggested retail price $9.95.

I know from experience the original ScreenClean did a good job of cleaning LCD screens and other displays, and now with some germ-killing strength thrown into the mix, it's sure to be a winner. Give them a try and tell the community what you think.
