Absolutely. Power conditioning removes line noise, EMI, RFI, and all kinds of gunk in the power line that can degrade performance. Running a seperate breaker line doesn't get rid of all that kind of stuff.

The fact you can't switch HDMI through your receiver is only caused by the fact that few receivers offered this feature until fairly recently. I'm guessing your receiver model is probably a few years old....
